My Electronics Journey

I'm learning electronics and doing mini fun projects side by side as a hobby. This page keeps track of my list of fun projects on electronics.

1. A DC switchboard toy

My nephew (1-year-old) always wants to play with the switchboard by turning lights on and off as it is not safe for a kid to play with a 220V power supply.

So I just created a small switch box with a 9v Battery, plugs, a few LEDs, and resistors so that it is entirely safe. Shock absorbent (Tested by throwing it a few times ๐Ÿ˜‰) ย and playable.

Two light setup

The two AC power plugs shown in the above image have the resistor and are connected to the LED.

I felt both sad and happy at the same time! I bought a few toys for my nephew. Some were even around 1K Rupees. He picks the toy first, but won't be playing for more than an hour afterward. But this toy causes 0 rupee for me, as later I can use it as a wire junction point. And the resistors and LEDs were already in my tools.

But with this toy, he's playing more than some toys more than 1000 rupees. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
